Boatshed Plymouth have moved into a new office at Mountbatten Plymouth. It is situated behind the Bridgend Boat Company in the Western Hangar off Lawrence road and adjacent to the popular Yacht Haven Marina. The company celebrated the move in true Boatshed style with a fizz@five party for customers, owners, local marine businesses and friends of Boatshed Plymouth. Neil and Mandy Chapman, the founders of Boatshed along with Josh Flavell the Communications Director and Robin Gray the Commercial Director were all their to support Tony and Amina Cleal who took over the running of Boatshed Plymouth in September.

The popular online yacht brokerage company have had a fantastic year so far with total group sales breaking many records, the latest being 1000 boats sold so far this year. Tony and Amina have been working hard to promote the brand within the Plymouth area and following the office move have had great results, a 36% increase in customer registrations, a 33% increase in boat detail viewings and a massive 80% increase in boat listings.

The party was a great success with so many people attending that at times it spilled out into the corridor but everyone was kept supplied with fizz, nibbles and great net working opportunities. Tony commented that everyone is so welcoming and friendly it’s been great fun increasing the brand awareness and listings. “We’re now getting a great range of used power and sailing boats for sale here in Plymouth and because we have up to 70 photos and a very detailed description of each boat on line our customers are coming from far and wide including many from the euro zone.”

There are no longer any Boatshed territories available along the South Coast of England so Boatshed.com which currently owns the Boatshed Plymouth license has now decided to put this area up for sale. Neil Chapman, Boatshed.com’s managing director said that the HQ team, who have always run this area feel that it is incredibly important to get the right person into the area whether it is on a managerial basis or as a new license holder. “Tony and Amina are showing us what can be done by Boatshed in Plymouth but unfortunately they have other commitments and won’t be able to run the area on a long term basis.”
