Boatshed Labs Weekly – Boatsales.ai

Boatshed Labs exists to experiment in public. It is where we test ideas that sit just beyond our core brokerage business and see how they perform in the real world. Some move forward, some don’t, but each helps us understand how technology and human behaviour are shifting across the marine industry.

This week’s work focuses on Boatsales.ai, our structured data project. We have moved it from a traditional website format to a static framework built directly within AWS.The new setup is described entirely in Infrastructure as Code, so storage, caching, permissions, and deployment are managed transparently from one versioned configuration. This means the platform can grow and adapt without manual steps or hidden dependencies.

The purpose of Boatsales.ai is to make marine listings readable by both people and machines. As more tools rely on structured information and open access, it becomes important that listings are consistent, traceable, and easy to interpret. The way people search, compare, and share data is changing, and the systems behind that data need to keep up.

Boatsales.ai is a quiet shift towards that future: open, verifiable information that supports better decisions and easier collaboration.

Steady progress, shared openly.
